Printing base
Fantasia Tessuti guarantees the processing of various high-quality printing bases to ensure the satisfaction of its customers needs.
The printing bases we use include yarn-dyed, processed, jacquard, jersey, lace, shuttle, and mixed fabrics.
Below you will find a brief description of the history of these precious textile fibers, all strictly MADE IN ITALY.
Shuttle-based fabric
Shuttle-woven fabrics are obtained through the weaving process, which involves the interlacing of warp (vertical) threads with weft (horizontal) threads.
The weaving is done on looms that allow the warp threads to be raised and lowered, and the weft threads to be inserted into the opening with the shuttle.
Jersey
Produced with knitting machines, Jersey fabric is elastic both in length and width. It can be made from any textile fiber, with the most commonly used being viscose, cotton, and wool. Jersey fabrics made with fibers have higher elasticity than stretch ones and are particularly suitable for the production of both women’s and men’s clothing, as well as sportswear.
Jacquard
It often happens that the simplest ideas end up triggering a revolution. And that’s exactly what happened with the loom invented by Joseph-Marie Jacquard, which also changed the history of weaving. Jacquard fabrics are distinguished by their complex designs and rich colors. In short, it is thanks to Jacquard’s idea that today we can produce intricate fabrics for clothing.
Blended Fabrics
Adding viscose to cotton gives it elegance; thanks to its combination with cotton, cashmere is also accessible in terms of cost. Classic blended fabrics are made of cotton and synthetic fibers. Even microfiber fabrics are always the result of a combination of different base fabrics.
